The first humans obviously used means of fighting animals, being at competition with each other, with possible associations, to survive. As time went on, humans discovered ways to make tools, build shelter, use fire, and become more advanced obviously in different ways. Such ways likely decreased the kinds of savagery involved in surviving, but not fully, as hunting still obviously occurred as well as human sacrifice for certain reasons, whether they be considered to be religious ones or other ones.
