December 28, 2012 -- Vermont lawmakers and tax officials voted 4-3 early last week to exempt businesses from a tax on cloud services, according to a report by VT Digger. On December 17, members of a tax panel against the taxation argued that the economic benefits of an exemption would outweigh lost tax revenue by keeping jobs and software companies in the state.
