(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud security provider Alert Logic announced on Wednesday that it has achieved record growth for 2011. It recorded $21.4 million in revenue for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2011, a 44 percent increase over the same period in 2010.

This announcement comes a week after Alert Logic named Chris Noell vice president of product management.

According to the press release, Alert Logic recorded fourth quarter revenue of $6.1 million, representing a 45 percent year over year increase.

Alert Logic says increased market demand and broader channel penetration for its suite of security-as-a-service solutions helped the company grow in 2011. More than half of the largest managed hosting and cloud service providers use Alert Logic to secure their customer environments, according to the press release.

“Entering 2012 as a $25 million company was a goal we set for ourselves at the beginning of 2011,” Gray Hall, Alert Logic’s president and CEO said in a statement. “Our growth rate has accelerated over the past two years, and we have plans to continue accelerating our rate of growth in 2012 and beyond.”

In 2011, Alert Logic announced limited availability of its Alert Logic Threat Manager for Amazon EC2, a service it expects to be generally available in the first half of 2012.

Alert Logic also launched its Cloud Acceleration Partner Program last year to enable technology partners to deliver security solutions as fully managed security services.
