February 7, 2012 -- Cloud provider Amazon Web Services has lowered the prices on its storage solution Amazon S3, according to a blog post on Monday. At the end of 2011, Amazon S3 hosted 762 billion objects, and processed more than 500,000 requests per second, and the decrease in storage prices reflects the high demand for cloud storage.

January 30, 2012 -- Cloud computing provider Amazon Web Services has added third-party support for operating systems running Amazon EC2, and some system software as well, according to a blog post on Monday. In addition to third-party support, customers will have access to the AWS Trusted Advisor that monitors AWS use and recommends configuration changes to save money, improve security and system performance.
