Colocation Firm FIBERTOWN Adds New Telecom Carriers to Houston Data Center
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider FIBERTOWN announced on Monday that it has added new telecom carriers into its 50,000 square foot data center in north Houston.
FIBERTOWN opened its Houston data center in October 2011. At this time it also named Garreth Speer vice president of operations.
FIBERTOWN’s data center offers connection to nine of the world’s largest Tier 1 Internet backbones, according to the press release. The carriers include AboveNet, Level 3, Phonoscope, Sprint, Suddenlink, Qwest, TW Telecom, Verizon and Windstream.
The data center is located along the main fiber route from Dallas to Houston, providing close proximity and easy access to telecommunications networks.
“Multi-carrier connectivity provides our data center customers with more robust options and plays a crucial role in the redundancy of our offerings,” Brandon Perryman, senior vice president at FIBERTOWN said in a statement. “Customers are empowered to select a carrier that best fits their business requirements.”
The data center houses primary and secondary point of presence rooms to ensure customers are always protected.
According to the press release, FIBERTOWN also provides point-to-point services via a dedicated pathway between its Houston data center and its data center in Bryan/College Station.
Both data centers have a 100 percent uptime SLA.
