Colocation Firm Telx Offers Customers Morphlabs Private Cloud Solution
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud computing platform developer Morphlabs announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with colocation firm Telx to deliver the hosted private cloud solution to Telx customers. Morphlabs also announced that it is the first cloud provider to join the Metro Ethernet Forum, the defining body for Carrier Ethernet.
This announcement comes a few months after Morphlabs appointed former E*Trade executive Lee Thompson its chief technology officer.
Morphlabs says these partnerships will help distribute its mCloud Data Center Unit solution worldwide by employing Carrier Ethernet exchanges. Enterprises can use Morphlabs Dynamic Resource Scaling technology to scale computes and storage on dedicated hardware on demand locally and remotely via a Carrier Ethernet exchange.
The Metro Ethernet Forum aims to accelerate the worldwide adoption of carrier-class Ethernet networks and services, according to the press release.
“The turnkey nature of Morphlabs’ mCloud DCU solution makes it a great fit for us — instantly bringing true Dynamic Infrastructure Services to our customers,” Darryl Brown, director of cloud and media services at Telx said in a statement. “Offering Morphlabs’ solutions in our C3 Cloud Connection Centers gives our Cloud Xchange members an even wider choice of cloud connectivity options.”
In November, Telx announced its plans to build a new data center in New Jersey.
“Partnering with Telx has provided Morphlabs with the connectivity and expertise that we require to lead the charge in amplifying the benefits of efficient computing solutions,” Winston Damarillo, founder and CEO at Morphlabs said in a statement. “Combining the reach and elasticity afforded by Carrier Ethernet with our Dynamic Resource Scaling innovations puts us on the right path to realize true cloud bursting potential and implement distributed data center capacity.”
