Colocation Firm CoreXchange Completes SSAE 16 Type II Audit
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider CoreXchange announced on Friday that it has completed its SSAE 16 Type II audit.
This announcement comes a few days after data center provider ViaWest received a dual-standard SSAE 16 Type II SOC 1 report, a SOC 3 report and a PCI report on compliance for PCI DSS in its Cornell and Synergy Park data center.
CoreXchange says the audit took place over several months. A third party auditor conducted a review of its operations and processes and determined that it met the requirements of SSAE 16.
SSAE 16 Type II compliance replaced SAS 70 last year, and allows a company to determine what it wants to be audited on. It is designed to measure financial and accounting controls.
The report includes a detailed description of service organization controls, an assessment of how controls were placed in operation, if controls were properly designed, a performance assessment, measuring overall effectiveness.
“CoreXchange customers demand enterprise-class reliability and security,” Peter Pathos, chairman of CoreXchange said in a statement. “Achieving SSAE 16 compliance is another level of assurance for our customers that CoreXchange data center facilities operate at the highest level of verified operational controls, procedures, and processes.”
According to the press release, SSAE 16 compliance will make it easy for CoreXchange customers to complete their own internal and third party audits, including those conducted under PCI, HIPAA, or SEC standards.
CoreXchange operates out of two data centers in Dallas, Texas, that feature connections to multiple Tier 1 Internet backbones. In addition to colocation, CoreXchange provides disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
