(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting and colocation provider XIOLINK announced on Wednesday it has completed its phase two upgrade at its St. Louis data center.

XIOLINK invested an additional $2.3 million in the infrastructure, power and cooling of its 1111 Olive data center, increasing the capacity by 60 percent.

The upgrade and increased capacity is expected to add 10 to 15 jobs at the data center within the next 12 to 18 months, said the company.

XIOLINK has already begun planning phase three of its expansion at the data center, which is expected to double the existing capacity from 25,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet.

Arco Construction Company handled the expansion and estimates between 50 and 60 local construction-related jobs were made possible by the project.

This phase of the build-out used green standards that XIOLINK initially established when the historic St. Louis Post-Dispatch printing press building was renovated in 2010.

The expansion included the installation of HVAC systems that use outside air when feasible, energy-efficient equipment and LED and lower-energy lighting solutions throughout the facility.

“This additional capacity will allow us to continue to add a variety of new clients and supports our mission of providing enterprise-level service and leading IT resources,” said Brad Pittenger, chief executive officer at XIOLINK. “We are proud to add these new jobs that will support not only our client base but the St. Louis community as well.”

XIOLINK provides a range of managed infrastructure, colocation and private cloud computing solutions.
